The desktop editor processes documents on your computer. It does not require uploading your PDFs to this website, and it works without an internet connection after installation.

A clear note on editing

Editing original PDF text depends on its fonts and encoding. Scanned text is not editable text. Removing an added item is not secure redaction. Keep the original file and review your saved PDF.

Editable PDFs include source and editing data. Do not use them to distribute documents that need hidden content permanently removed.

Is it really free?

Yes. ANS PDF Tool is offered free to use, with no account required.

Can I edit text exported from Word or PowerPoint?

Supported original text can be edited by double-clicking. Font and encoding restrictions apply. Moving original text and full paragraph reflow are not currently supported.

Will added items stay editable?

PDFs saved by the current app include editing data so it can restore added objects. Other editors may change or remove that data. Save a project copy as a backup.

Do I need to install anything to use this website?

This page provides the Windows desktop application. A browser editor is not included in this release.
